Three pupils of the Beginners Educational Complex in the Amansie Central of the Ashanti Region have been burnt to death after a 207 bus caught fire.
The incident occurred at Huu at about 4PM on Tuesday, June 13.
Six school children joined the 207-passenger bus at Huu after their school bus broke down.
They were heading to Edwenase when the vehicle caught fire. Some passengers on board managed to escape. Three out of the six schoolchildren got stuck in the bus and burnt to death.
“We just saw the bus in flames, and within seconds, it intensified because the bus was carrying some petroleum products.
“We joined hands to rescue all passengers on board, but we lost 3 of the kids. The children are all from Edwenase but attend school at Huu”, an eyewitness, Francis Osei told Phelad Media GH.
The deceased are aged between 5 and 7 years.
