Video: Teachers Are Not Expected To Become Millionaires - President Akufo Addo

As teachers in the country have been urging the government for better conditions of service, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said teaching as a profession is a low paying job for teachers to become millionaires.


His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo disclosed this speaking in a viral interview video circulating on various social media platforms sighted by Phelad Media Gh. 

Advising teachers on how they can make a contribution to the welfare of society, Nana Addo encouraged them to aside teaching do other jobs that will fetch them enough money.

“Nevertheless I don’t think anywhere in the world that people go into teaching and expect to become millionaires and make money if you want to do that you do other things,” the President told teachers.

But Ghanaian teachers have described it unfortunate and discouraging the comment of the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces adding that his words were inconsiderate.

Meanwhile, the Nana Akufo-Addo led government promised to give Ghanaian teachers better conditions of service when vying for power which included distributing state of the art brand new laptops to teachers in the country to improve teaching and learning, increment in salaries among others, which are yet to manifest.
