President John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration on January 7th, 2025, was not only historic but very beautiful return by his distinctive choice of outfit which conveyed a powerful message of his leadership values for the next four years.

President Mahama today abandoned the usual suit and tie and donned a customized  white Agbada, beautifully adorned with intricate kente designs.

His outfit was not for fashion's sake, but spoke about certain principles he holds dear through the Kente designs and those four Adinkra Symbols wove in his attire.

The Nyame Dua, symbolizing the Tree of Life, represents purification and blessings.

The SankÉ”fa symbol, “return and fetch it,” represents the idea of learning from the past to improve the future. This showcases Mahama’s commitment to growth and progress.

Gye Nyame, the symbol that signifies the supremacy of God, is his recognition of divine authority in guiding his leadership decisions.

The Dwennimmen adinkra symbol is a bird’s eye view of two rams butting heads, and the rams’ horns symbolizes strength and humility.

These symbols also represent the core values Mahama wishes to champion during his presidency: trustworthiness, reliability, modesty, and truthfulness.
