Leticia Kyereh Pinaman, a 17-year-old student of
Miracle Senior High school in Sunyani, who Ghanaians were made to understand to
had committed suicide by hanging herself in the school’s dining hall last
Monday, is still leaving the entire country confused as to whether she truly
committed suicide or not.
Though the matter is still under investigation
awaiting the police’s declaration of the cause of her death, many Ghanaians
like myself have a couple of questions to ask in relation to the death of
Leticia.
We all lament and hope to embark on a journey that
seeks justice to the poor innocent girl with lots of potentials whose life has
been cut short by a yet to know means.
According to the leaders of #JUSTICE FOR LETICIA,
the below questions must be first answered by the school authorities before any
further actions:
1. Does the school have CCTV cameras? If it has
not, then it has to be sued for lack of safety as girls like Leticia can be
raped by any intruder or even teachers without any evidence.
2. Was the handwriting in the note the school said
Leticia left the same as hers (Leticia’s)? How do we confirm that?
3. How did Leticia enter the dining hall at an unauthorized
time without any of the school authorities’ notice? Meaning some authorities do
not perform their duties especially the one in charge of the dining hall.
4. Where did Leticia get the rope? And was that rope
strong enough to hold a hanging weight of a stature like Leticia’s?
5. Under normal circumstances when one gets choked
by even water or food, the coughing alone is unbearable than to talk of a tight
rope choking the throat. Now, didn’t Leticia cough out louder enough to draw
anybody’s attention? Who was around her to wipe the foam and saliva that could
have come out of her mouth because there was none found on her according to our
source and even in the circulating video of the incident.
6. Lastly, Leticia was not actually hanging when she
was found, but her feet were touching the ground according to our findings and
the video circulating on the net. What does that mean?
The school should be well questioned. Let us all
join in this to seek justice for poor Leticia.
